Mountain hikes
Tradition – Quality – Activity
There are countless hiking and activity options to and from Spiterstulen. Towering mountains and spectacular glaciers surround the Visdalen Valley on all sides, and no fewer than 17 peaks over 2,300 metres can be reached on day hikes from Spiterstulen. During the summer season, guided glacier tours to the Fairytale Ice on the Svellnosbreen Glacier are offered by several operators. In good weather, both Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind can also be safely climbed without a guide.
Spiterstulen is centrally located for hikers trekking from cabin to cabin and is a natural stop for both winter and summer travelers. The journey up or down Visdalen is for many the beginning or end of yet another mountain adventure in Jotunheimen. Remember that you must always be secured with a rope and go together with experienced glacier guides when crossing a glacier!
HAPPY HIKING!
