Haute Route - Høgruta

The Jotunheimen Haute Route, or Høgruta as it's called, is a 5-6 day ski touring trip in the heart of Jotunheimen. The route traverses several 2000-meter peaks, including Glittertind and Galdhøpiggen, and passes by staffed mountain lodges. Each stage is approximately 15 km long, with an elevation gain of 1000-1500 meters.

Following the model of the classic Haute Route in the Alps, enthusiasts Stian Hagen and Johan Wildhagen, along with DNT Oslo and Omegn, have taken the initiative to develop the Høgruta in Jotunheimen. Many organizations collaborate on the new route, including DNT, Lom municipality, the lodges along the route, and the tourism industry in Gudbrandsdalen.
